Fall Make-up Trends

The fall season has arrived! Now that you have your hair trends and nail trends for the season, how about you try some of these awesome make-up trends. They all can be played up or down depending on if you want a daytime or nighttime look.

Metallic Lids

Metallic eyeshadow will make you look more awake and your skin brighter. Start by picking your favorite metallic shadow or one to match your mani. Apply on top of your lids, following into the corners of your eyes, and finish with a coat of your favorite mascara. For daytime, keep the rest of your look simple with just a light lip gloss, for night you can add your favorite lipstick.

Berry Lips

Berry lips is a trend rocked by quite a few different celebrities. Use a concealer on your lips to allow the color to stick better. Line them with a lip liner, and finish with a matching lipstick. For daytime, keep the rest of your color palette in the neutrals to not over power your look. For nighttime, complete your look with a some mascara and black eyeliner.

Flushed Cheeks

A bit of a rosy cheek is a good way to cover if your not feeling well, or just to add some color to enhance your cheek bones. To make a great flushed cheek, add a pink toned blush to the tops of your cheeks, and follow with a cream skin tone colored blush underneath. Blend the two together so there are no lines for a natural look.

Bright Eyes

Bright eyeshadow is a bold trend that is not for everyone. If you are fearless and want to try it here's how. Choose a bright eyeshadow color you want to use. Apply to your lids, without any other colors or eyeliner. Keep the rest of your look completely natural and just add a shiny lip gloss. Your eyes are the only thing that needs to make a statement.

Bold Brows

Thicker eyebrows were a thing of the 70's and 80's. In the recent years, they have been making a big comeback. Thicker shaped and darker brows are in! Start by getting your eyebrows tinted. It is an all natural dye made from vegetables, and lasts for weeks. It will darken your brows, and give them a more defined shape. Comb your brows, and use an eyebrow pencil to pencil in any thinner spots to complete the fuller look. Be sure to still get them shaped though.

Try out these fall make-up ideas at school, work, or even for a party. Pair them with the hot nail and hair trends, along with an amazing outfit and you are sure to be a hit where ever you go.

Fall Hair & Nail Trends

September is officially here. That means back to school, summer is over and fall is about to begin. As the school year begins, and the leaves begin to change, why not change up your look just a bit. It is time to amp up your hair and nail game this season with these great trends for fall!

Nails

1. Red.
Red is a classic fall/winter color and for some people an all year around nail color. Add a twist on red this year with a fun design, textured polish or even a different shade then you would normally wear.

2. Gray.
Gray nail polish is no longer just for the more edgier girls. Gray is actually a great color for fall, and can be done as light or dark as you desire. Try to keep it simple without any added touches.

3. Jewel Tones.
From the summer trend or bright pastels, we move into the more darker colors of jewel tones. We have already mentioned reds, but now how about a sapphire or amethyst color on your nails. For an added touch, add a glitter coat over top, for that extra jewel like sparkle.

4. Metallics.
Metallic colored nail polish can be done in a variety of colors, and really can make an added statement to any outfit. Try out a silver, gold, or even purple metallic polish to find one that fits you.

5. Nudes.
And back for another season is nude nail polish! From a wide arrange of pinks to browns by many different brands, you should have no trouble finding the perfect shade for you. If you did nudes in the summer and want to stay with it, try going with a darker or lighter color then you did before, just to change it up a bit.

Hair
1. Color sombre.
A color sombre is a softer, more natural looking take on the summers ombre trend. So instead of going from dark brown to blonde, you would go from dark brown to a more medium red/brown. And from a darker blonde to a lighter blonde.

2. Platinum.
This is an ongoing trend this year, because it can be done with short or long hair, and when it starts to grow out, it still looks good. Be careful when doing this look, because it is very damaging to the hair.

3. Long Bobs.
So you cut your hair into a bob a few months ago and its all grow out now, well it is a current trend! Go in and get it shaped up and you will be all set. This style is easy to maintain, and women love it. If you are thinking about changing up your cut this is a great one to do.

4. Choppy Bobs.
A short choppy bob is a great cut for wavy or curly hair because it gives lots of texture, and keeps the hair fun. Be sure to specify exactly how short you want the bob, because if you go too short you may end up with a pixie cut.

5. Sleek Ponys.
A sleek ponytail is a great look for any occasion. You can wear it around the house, to work, to a girls night out or even a dance. Whether you wear your hair curly, wavy, straight or even with a braid, you can never go wrong with this simple, classic look.

6. Texture, Texture, TEXTURE!
Lots of texture is in this fall. The finished, put together everyday, look is not. Let your hair be. When your hair is wet, towel dry it and put it up in a scrunchie for some great waves. Use a curl enhancing mousse to really amp up those waves. Or if you have wavy hair, let it air dry naturally.

Try out some of these awesome trends for this fall. Whether its for your hair or nails, you will definitely be in this year when it comes to style!

Beauty Tips And Tricks

Everyone has had a moment where they are trying to get ready and something has broken or become messed up. Getting ready is never an easy task and somethings never seem to work out the way you wanted. Well here are some beauty fixes for you to try when things do not work out the way they are supposed to.

1. Fading Lipstick.
Everyone has had that problem. You are half way threw the night and your lipstick has become dull and faded. After you have applied your lipstick, put a kleenex over your lips and dust a translucent powder over them. It will keep the color nice and bright all night long. To add a little shine, add your favorite lip gloss on top.

2. Thin Lashes.
Want the look of fuller, longer looking lashes with out applying fake lashes? Try this tip. Apply your first coat of mascara then take a q-tip, dip it in baby powder and run it across your lashes (focusing on the tips.) Then apply another coat on top. The end result is longer, fuller looking lashes.

3. Thin Lips.
Want fuller looking lips? Before applying lipstick or lip gloss, apply a pale shade of eyeshadow to the middle of your lips. It will create the illusion of fuller lips.

4. Dry Heels/Feet.
At the end of the day, soak your feet in warm water for about 10-15 mins. Remove and dry. Apply vaseline and socks on to your feet. The warmth will allow your feet to absorb the moisture and help to reduce the dryness. This is the best for the cold, dry winter months.

5. Eyebrows.
In need of an eyebrow trimming? Fake it for a night out. Apply lip balm on your finger and run it across your eyebrows to keep them in place. Follow with an eyebrow brush to keep them from becoming clumped together.

6.Broken Eyeshadow.
If your powder eyeshadow or blush has broke add some rubbing alcohol into it. Mix it together so it forms a paste, pat down and let it dry over night. It will make your powder good as new!

7. Eyeshadow Smudging.
To keep your eye shadow lasting all day, be sure to use an eyeshadow primer. Applying a primer will keep your shadow from rubbing off. If you do not have a primer, use unscented lip balm.

8. Under Eye Tones.
Have circles under your eyes that won't go away? Use a concealer with an orange tone to it. Orange cancels out blue tones and will cover up the under eye circles. Finish with a powder that matches your skin tone.

These are some great tips to help make your every day beauty routine easier and help fix some problems you may see along the way. Have a beautiful day and enjoy these last few days of summer vacation.

If you are wearing electric eyeliner, then just apply a coat of your favorite mascara, and your eyes are all set. Let the liner speak for itself.

1 Weeks Worth of Beauty Trends

Summer is coming to an end. Now is the time to finish out your summer with a bang, and looking great while doing it. Here are some trends for the 1st week of August.

1. Berry Stained Lips.
Adding color to your lips can make them look plumper and fuller. Berry is a pretty color that can be lighter or darker, which ever you choose. Think of the color your lips turn after eating blackberries and the thats the color lipstick or lip gloss to go with. Pair this with more neutral colors for your eyes and cheeks, so that way your lips stand out.

2. Hairline Braids.
A hairline braid is a great way to add a little something to a straight hairstyle or a natural wave. You can do one across your bangs like a rope braid, or going towards the back of your head like cornrows. Either way, this is a playful style that can be dressed up or down, and is great to wear from the beach to the city.

3. A Hint of Silver Sparkle.
Adding a little bit of shimmer to your lids is great, and can be played up or down for a daytime or night time look. For day time, use a lighter gray with a silver sparkle and a thin line of blue or dark gray eyeliner to really make your eyes pop. For night, use gray and black for a smokey eye.

4. Top Knots.
Top knots are a great way to easily style your hair, and look cute too. They are cute, messy, and great for a morning that you are running late to work or school. If you also didn't wash your hair, it can hide that. Also if you put a fun peekaboo in your hair, this will show it off even though your hair isn't down.

5. False Lashes.
Amp up your eyes and make your lashes look like they go on for days by adding on a pair of fake lashes. Use a band lash on each eye and follow up with your favorite mascara. They will make your lashes look longer and fuller. be sure to remove them before going to bed.

6. Gold Polish.
Gold nail polish looks great in the sun, and really will enhance any tan. Don't go for a dark gold polish, choose a light more of a rose gold. It may seem a little light, but really shines in the sun. It also will go with almost any outfit.

7. Contrasting Lips & Lids.
This trend is a way to play with your make-up. You can do contrasting colors one on your eyes and a more subtle one on your lips. They don't match, but it still looks good. Just make sure, if one is really drastic to tone the other one down.

Try these styles out now, and maybe you will be rocking some new looks this school year. Have fun, and look out for some more looks for next week.

Things That Could be Ruining Your Skin: Part 2

In continuation of the post from last week, here are more things that can be ruining or damaging your skin.

1.) Wearing Dirty Sunglasses. We all wear sunglasses on those hot summer days, but did know that bacteria can become built up on them? Especially on the nose piece. The bacteria can cause breakouts and skin irritation. Be sure to use a hand wipe or baby wipe to wipe off your sunglasses at any part that sits on your face before wearing them.

2.) Not Getting Enough Sleep. The recommended amount of sleep the average person should get each night is 8 hours. Not getting a full 8 hours of rest can lead to dull, tried looking skin, and black circles under your eyes. If you are someone that has a hard time falling a sleep, try going to bed an hour before you normally would. Also avoid any sugar or caffeine after 5pm so it makes it easier for you to go to sleep.

3.) Too Much Sodium.  Many people do not realize how much sodium can be found in every day foods and drinks. Too much sodium is not only bad for your health, but it dehydrates your skin. Be sure to check the labels on your food, and try to cut back on some of the salty things you eat. While you are eating something salty, drink water so you are adding hydration back into your body. Also use a daily moisturizer.

4.) Squinting Your Eyes. Your eyes are one of the most important senses. By wearing old glasses or contacts you are straining your eyes and causing them to do more work then they have too. In return, this causes fine lines and wrinkles in the corners of your eyes. Be sure to visit the eye doctor once a year, to avoid unnecessary wrinkles.

5.) Waxing Too Often. Waxing is a great way to remove unwanted hair on you face and body, but did you know that waxing to often can increase skin irritation. Waxing removes the hair from your skin, but can also remove the top layer of skin as well. You should wait 4-6 weeks between each waxing session to allow your skin time to recover, and to allow the hair time to grow so it is at an ideal length for waxing.

6.) Forgetting Your Lips. Keeping your lips moisturized and hydrate is something that every man and woman needs to pay attention too. You can easily forget to apply your lip balm when going outside in winter or even just on an everyday basis. After brushing your teeth in the morning, apply lip balm (preferably one with spf) and continue to apply throughout the day. At night, especially on a cold winter day, apply vaseline on your lips so they are moisturized during the night while you sleep. You can even apply vaseline to the end of your nose if it is dry.

7.) Dirty Pillow Cases & Sheets. Dirty pillow cases and sheets doesn't mean just dirty in appearance, they can look clean but still be harboring dead skin cells and bacteria. Which means every night this is what you are sleeping on. If you are washing your face properly and still experiencing breakouts, this may be the reason why. Your should wash your pillow cases and sheets at least once every two weeks, but you can wash them once a week as well.

8.) Over Exfoliating.  Exfoliating your skin is great, and needs to be done to remove dead skin cells and dirt build up from your face. There can be too much of a good thing. Stick to exfoliating once a week for your face, doing more can strip the skin of its natural oils which keep it healthy, and it can also remove layers of skin. For your body, you can do it 2-3 times a week. If your skin becomes irritated, slow down the exfoliation.

9.) Stress. Stress is not something you can always avoid. Some people tend to get more stressed out then others. Stress can cause breakouts, rashes, and fine lines in your face. Take at least 30 minutes a day, and do something that relaxes you. This will help to calm your body down, and reduce your stress level.

These were more things that could be ruining your skin. I hope you have beautiful skin for years to come.

Things That Could Be Ruining Your Skin

Keeping your skin soft, fresh, and clean is a daily habit. Did you know that you could be doing things that are ruining your skin daily? Here are somethings that could be ruin your skin and how to prevent them from doing so.

1. Too Much Chlorine.
Chlorine is only something you need to worry about during the summer, but chlorine can dry out your skin and even change the color of your hair if not properly washed off. To be sure that you have gotten rid of all the chlorine, use extra sudsy soap. It will keep the chlorine from clinging to your skin, or body products.

2. Sleeping With Your Make-up On.
Sleeping with your make-up on can cause clogged pores, and bacterial infections which both cause acne. Wash your face at night and remove any make-up. If you are someone who tends to forget, leave make-up removing wipes next to your bed so you will remember when you get ready for bed.

3. Caffeine.
Caffeine helps to dry out the skin, and magnifies wrinkles in your skin. To balance out the caffeine in coffee, tea or pop drink lots of water. Water will hydrate your skin and help enhance its natural glow. You can even add lemon, orange or cucumber to add extra flavor.

4.Popping Pimples.
Everyone tends to see a white or black head on there face and the first thing they think of is, "I need to pop that." Well picking at the skin on your face will push dirt and bacteria into the pores and can cause more acne. Instead, use water as hot as you can stand it (but not so it is burning) to open up your pores and exfoliate your face if you do not have time to see an Esthetician, other wise set up an appointment to get a facial, and the technician can direct you to use products that will help with your breakouts.

5. Long Hot Showers.
Hot Showers are great every once in a while, but the hot water actually strips away the outer layer of your skin. Be sure to limit the amount of time you are in the shower. It is best to gradually cool off the water, the longer you are in there, and it won't be as cold when you get out.

6. Testing Too Many Products.
When testing perfume, cosmetics, lotions, or cleansers, use a small patch on your arm. That way you don't risk having an allergic reaction on your face. Limit your self to just a few products, that way you minimize the amount of smells, and chances to have a reaction. Some products don't mix well with others.

7. Not Drinking Enough Water.
Many of us are culprits of not hydrating ourselves properly. By not drinking enough water, we are actually speeding up the aging process of our skin. It causes rough, shrunken skin. So hydrate, hydrate, hydrate to give yourself beautiful, glowing skin.

8. Getting Hair Products O Your Face.
If you have ever had your hair done by a hair stylist and they used hair spray on your head, you will notice how the cover your face in the process. This is not only to protect your eyes but your skin as well. Hair products can cause skin irritation and breakouts. Be sure to cover your face when using hair products, and to use a sweat band at the gym to keep products from sweating out onto your face.

These are 8 things that could be ruining your skin. I really learned a lot and hope you learned something too. Hope this helps you to have healthier, glowing skin.
