Spring Break Nails

Anytime you go on vacation, especially to some place warm that has a beach, you want to have great looking nails. The problem is the chip easily. If your not a fan of shellac or gel, follow these tips and check out these great colors as well.

What Color To Chose

Magenta. While many people associate magenta with barbie pink, it doesn't have to be that pink. Try one that has darker under tones like purple in it if you have olive or dark skn tone so it is more of a purple-pink. For fairer skin, go towards a brighter pink.

Papaya. Basically a bright orange with a hit of pink. The darker your skin tone, the brighter it should be. This a great color to make your skin look tanner.

Indigo. This is an updated verison of the navy blue nail trend that was in last year. This dark blue with a hit of purple goes great for everyday life and life on the beach.

Seafoam green.
Seafoam green is basically a mint green that is a bit more pale in some cases. It is light enough so it goes with just about anything and can really make greens and blues pop.

Bright Lemon.
Yellow nail polish is not a color that will be for everyone. It works best for darker skin tones like olive, because other wise it will make your skin look more yellow, and bring out those under tones.

How to Keep Your Nails Looking Great

Keep your hands off.
Anytime your hair is wet, avoid running your fingers threw your hair. The polish becomes softer when it is wet, so it can catch on things a lot easier. Have you ever noticed that your polish chipped while washing your hair? Be careful while washing your hair and use the pads of your fingers instead of the tips, and when you get out of any type of water, use a leave in conditioner then brush your hair with a soft bristle brush or a wide tooth comb.

Avoid alcohol on your hands.
Any kind of alcohol from drinks to perfume to hand sanitizer should be avoided on by your nails if you want to keep them nice and shiny. The alcohol will dull the color.

Be careful with your suitcase.
Watch yourself as you unzip your suit case. Your nails can easily get caught on the teeth of the suit case or on a string and snag. You can always ask someone else to unzip it for you.

Avoid sunscreen on your polish.
The chemicals in sunscreen dull our polish. Be sure to wipe them off after you have applied your sunscreen all over. You can use a beach towel or even any alcohol free wipes.

Sand.
Your nails seem duller after a day at the beach? Apply oil or a top coat to bring back the shine.

What To Pack

Cuticle oil. Apply every day after being in the sun, sand and just every day wear.

Topcoat. In case you start to lose the shine from sunscreen, or chlorine.

Travel kit. Include a nail file, nail clippers in case you break a nail. Don't use the crappy orange files, opt for a good one.

Nail polish remover wipes. For easy polish removal if you chip them beyond repair.

Nail polish. For touch-ups of if you just feel like changing up the color.

Alcohol free wipes. To wipe up your polish so it doesn't yellow or dull.

I hope you enjoyed this great tips to have your nails looking great for Spring Break or any other vacation this year.

Fall Hair & Nail Trends

September is officially here. That means back to school, summer is over and fall is about to begin. As the school year begins, and the leaves begin to change, why not change up your look just a bit. It is time to amp up your hair and nail game this season with these great trends for fall!

Nails

1. Red.
Red is a classic fall/winter color and for some people an all year around nail color. Add a twist on red this year with a fun design, textured polish or even a different shade then you would normally wear.

2. Gray.
Gray nail polish is no longer just for the more edgier girls. Gray is actually a great color for fall, and can be done as light or dark as you desire. Try to keep it simple without any added touches.

3. Jewel Tones.
From the summer trend or bright pastels, we move into the more darker colors of jewel tones. We have already mentioned reds, but now how about a sapphire or amethyst color on your nails. For an added touch, add a glitter coat over top, for that extra jewel like sparkle.

4. Metallics.
Metallic colored nail polish can be done in a variety of colors, and really can make an added statement to any outfit. Try out a silver, gold, or even purple metallic polish to find one that fits you.

5. Nudes.
And back for another season is nude nail polish! From a wide arrange of pinks to browns by many different brands, you should have no trouble finding the perfect shade for you. If you did nudes in the summer and want to stay with it, try going with a darker or lighter color then you did before, just to change it up a bit.

Hair
1. Color sombre.
A color sombre is a softer, more natural looking take on the summers ombre trend. So instead of going from dark brown to blonde, you would go from dark brown to a more medium red/brown. And from a darker blonde to a lighter blonde.

2. Platinum.
This is an ongoing trend this year, because it can be done with short or long hair, and when it starts to grow out, it still looks good. Be careful when doing this look, because it is very damaging to the hair.

3. Long Bobs.
So you cut your hair into a bob a few months ago and its all grow out now, well it is a current trend! Go in and get it shaped up and you will be all set. This style is easy to maintain, and women love it. If you are thinking about changing up your cut this is a great one to do.

4. Choppy Bobs.
A short choppy bob is a great cut for wavy or curly hair because it gives lots of texture, and keeps the hair fun. Be sure to specify exactly how short you want the bob, because if you go too short you may end up with a pixie cut.

5. Sleek Ponys.
A sleek ponytail is a great look for any occasion. You can wear it around the house, to work, to a girls night out or even a dance. Whether you wear your hair curly, wavy, straight or even with a braid, you can never go wrong with this simple, classic look.

6. Texture, Texture, TEXTURE!
Lots of texture is in this fall. The finished, put together everyday, look is not. Let your hair be. When your hair is wet, towel dry it and put it up in a scrunchie for some great waves. Use a curl enhancing mousse to really amp up those waves. Or if you have wavy hair, let it air dry naturally.

Try out some of these awesome trends for this fall. Whether its for your hair or nails, you will definitely be in this year when it comes to style!

Having your nails done is an absolute must in the summer, especially your toes. Getting a pedicure is a must to have your feet looking and feeling great at all times. Wearing sandals and going to the beach can be hard on our feet and they need a little love every now and them. And if your getting your toes done, might as well get your hands done too. Here are some great nail color ideas for the season!

Matching Hands & Toes

If your someone who has to have there hands and toes match, there are some great options to be in the same color palette, but do a lighter version on your hands and a darker version on your toes. They will compliment each other, and will still match (even if they are different colors).

                 Hands                                                                                     Toes

Color Combos
If your some one who doesn't mind not matching there hands and toes, these are colors for you. They are different, but are fun and still go together. The key is to have one that is is shimmery and one that is more neutral or just a solid bright color.
                                       Hands                                                                           Toes
Neutral on Hands, Bright on Toes
If you are someone who isn't really into have a color on your hands, there is another option. Doing neutral colors on your hands are great. Then you can do any color on your toes, and you don't have to worry if you want to change the colors on your toes because it will always match. Here are some great toe polish colors.

 Light Gray

 Bright Blue

To keep your polish lasting longer, while in the sun and pool, apply sunscreen onto your nails. It will keep the color from fading. Apply a top coat every other day to help keep them shiny. Also, apply hand cream or moisturizer before swimming because water can dull out the color.

Best Polish Colors For Summer

Nail polish colors are sometimes hard to choose from. There are so many different colors to choose from and it is hard to pick what color will look best on you. I will tell you the most popular nail trends for this summer and which shade to wear for your own skin tone.

The hot nail polish color trends for the summer are coral, metallic, neon's and blues, but not every shade of each color looks good for all skin tones. For each skin tone, I will direct you to the color that will look and compliment your skin the most.

Fair Skin

Coral Polish. For women with light to fair skin, a darker coral will be too much. Go for a lighter shade of coral, like a sweet blush color. It is a lighter coral with orange tones. It will enhance your skin tone, instead of over powering it.

Metallic. Metallic polish on lighter skin can be very hard to pull off. If you have a bold look, it goes great but with the right color. Try for a rose gold shade of polish. It is a pink nail polish, with a gold tone to it. Make sure the polish is very shiny, and not too dark. It will give your skin tone a little added color.

Neon. Neon colors are great to add a pop of color, to a black, white or gray outfit. The best neon color for fair skin is a fuchsia. It is a darker but bright shade of pink. Some fuchsia's even have a hint of purple to them. Every polish line has a fuchsia color.

Blue. Blue nail polish is not something everyone is a fan of. Some people stick to pinks, reds and more natural looking colors, while others like to go for something different. Blue nail polish can be a hard color to pull off, but the best for fair skin is a bright sky blue. The blue is the color of the sky, but with a bright factor to it, instead of the more toned down blue that the sky is.

Olive Skin

Coral. Coral nail polish is a great color for darker skin tones. For olive skin, a melon shade of coral is the best. Melon is the closest standard shade of coral. It is a bit lighter, with an orange tint to it.

Metallic. The best shade of metallic for olive skin is a glittery silver. This gives you a wide variety of options to choose which glitter you like best. There are chunky and thin silver glitters, also silver polish with glitter in it. You can also add the silver glitter over another color, for an added effect.

Neon. Bright colors look great on tanned skin. Try an electric lime green against olive skin. You can use a lighter or darker shade of lime green depending on what you like better. It will really make a statement.

Blue. Blue nail polish looks great with a blue outfit. If your outfit is dark blue, wearing a lighter blue, like an aquamarine, will be a great complimenting color. Aquamarine is a blue with green hues in it. You can have it shiny or more of a matte color.

Bronze Skin

Coral. For bronze skin, you can go with a sparkly coral pink. It is like the normal shade of coral but with added glitter, for some extra sparkle. You can put a coat of coral on, and then put a coat of a glitter polish over it.

Metallic. To compliment your skin tone, and still get the metallic color, try a copper color. Especially one with a shimmer effect. It will make your skin look brighter and more refreshed.

Neon. For a great neon, that will make you look tanner, try a bright orange. You can choose from an orange with a red tint, or a normal orange shade. Make sure it stays nice and bright. The brighter the color, then better it will look with your skin.

Blue. A great blue for you is a midnight blue. The dark color will look great with a lighter blue out fit. If you want to add a little extra, put a dark blue glitter over it.

Deep Skin

Coral. Any shade of coral would look great on darker skin, but if you want something that you will like, try a salmon coral. This color is more relaxed and a pretty pink. It looks great with anything.

Metallic. Doing dark colors, against dark skin sometimes makes your skin look duller. Try a lighter metallic gold polish. It will compliment any black or brown outfit, and make your skin shine.

Neon. All neon colors will make your skin pop. To try something different, use a yellow. It really pops against dark colors.

Blue. For a great blue, go for something rich like a cobalt blue. A dark blue that has a brightness to it looks great with any light colored outfit.

The color of August is mint green. It is a great light color that can be used for an added pop of color or to tone down any outfit. These are all the nail color trends for this summer. Try one out today, and get a great manicure.
